Keasha LeClear-Morse who had previously been a Stand Alone in Pinckney, MI has now started a chapter in Brighton, MI. Thank you all for starting a chapter. This brings our grand total to 81 chapters in 13 countries and 53 chapters in 29 US states.  We continue to grow and to struggle in getting people to come to the meetings. If you are a survivor of child sexual abuse I urge you to see if there is a chapter near you, contact me for their email address and become a part of the Lamplighter Movement.

We now have a new chapter in Africa, Tema-Ghana, West Africa and another in South Africa at Fourways/Randburg. Our Las Vegas Chapter is no longer with us and we have a new chapter at another women’s prison in Gadsden, Florida. That makes two women’s prisons. We’re hoping to be able to start chapters in all of them. And……a new chapter in Pottsville, PA. This brings our total chapters to 77 in 14 countries, 53 chapters in 28 US States. Hooray for us!!!!!!! And much thanks to all of our facilitators. You are a courageous bunch and I salute you!!

We also have a new Stand Alone, Rey Reynolds from Salt Lake City, UT.  And every day I get emails from other countries where people are interested, some of them from countries I never heard of. The Lamplighters, as an international movement, is generating a lot of excitement. Thank you all for what you are doing.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area chapter that Rizwan vacated has been taken over by Diane from Hurst, TX.

Rizwan Massini, formerly from Texas has moved to Las Vegas, NV and is starting a new chapter there. We also have a new Stand Alone in San Antonio, TX

We have three new chapters, one is a Stand Alone from Edgewater, MD and the other two are from Africa: One is from Khayelitsha, Western Cape, South Africa and the other is from Makindu, Kenya. This makes two in Kenya and nine in Africa. We have a total of 68 chapters in twelve countries. If you know of anyone who is interested in starting a chapter send them to me at margie@thelamplighters.org. If you would like more information on the new chapters let me know and I will forward your email to the facilitator. And don’t forget! November 19th is World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse. Spread the word! Start a chapter to celebrate or buy a copy of REPAIR Your Life and get started on recovery or maybe just reach a caring hand out to someone who needs it. (November 11, 2010)

In the last few weeks six new chapters have formed (or are in the process of forming): one in Montgomery, Alabama, one in Omaha, Nebraska, a third one in England in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, a second one in Mundi County, Sudan, and one in Tunis, Tunisia, Africa (a lovely country overlooking the Mediterranean). Spread the word. We need an army!

An exciting new event regarding the Lamplighter Movement!

We have recently been trying to get the Lamplighter Movement Chapters started in women’s prisons.  Statistics show that nearly 50% of women in prison were sexually abused as a child.  Nearly 93% of women who are in prison for murdering their spouse were sexually abused as children.  We currently have our first chapter in the California Institute for Women in Chino, Ca. At the moment they have 25 women in their chapter and are working the REPAIR program together.

We now have our first chapter in England, in Hayes, Middlesex, London.  The facilitator is Sharon Nuro.  This makes 52 chapters in seven countries.  I am so very excited.  A new chapter starting up to me is like Christmas.  I am so proud of all of my facilitators and so very grateful to them for what they are doing. About Marjorie McKinnon

When I was in incest recovery, living in a women’s shelter, married to my third abuser, suicidal, fumbling my way in the dark. I thought, ‘If only I had a Lamplighter, someone who would show me the way.’

The dream of the
Lamplighter Movement was born.

Excerpt from my book

REPAIR Your Life:
A Program for Recovery from
Incest & Childhood Sexual Abuse

My program, REPAIR, is the result of several years of note-taking, journalizing, meditation, and piecing together parts of my own life, as well as conversations with other incest survivors across the country. As I worked my way through recovery, I kept notes in anticipation that someday what I was learning might help others. When I began this book, I re-read my own first-person account, Let Me Hurt You and Don’t Cry Out, to re-walk the path I had taken. I never realized at the time how blessed I was, for that path, although rugged, was straight, and in retrospect provided me with invaluable help to create this program Read the rest of this entry »

Repair Mission Statement

“Every victim of childhood sexual abuse deserves the right to live a healthy and joyful life. Repair is an educational program designed to provide tools to achieve that goal in a sensitive, non-judgmental and caring environment”.

Our ultimate goal is to have happy, stable, healthy adults, and that begins with having happy, stable, healthy children, children who have been protected from any possible predator and who are being raised in a healthy family system.

The REPAIR Program

Work the REPAIR Program! It will change your life!

R.E.P.A.I.R. is an acronym that stands for the stages of the program…

Recognition – Recognizing and accepting that your adult problems stem from childhood sexual abuse.

Entry – Entering a program of commitment to change your life for the better.

Process – Learning tools and techniques that will enable you to become healthy.

Awareness – The coming together of reality as you gather the pieces of the broken puzzle your life became, and begin assembling them to see the complete picture.

Insight – Seeing the complete picture and beginning to return to that which you were prior to being sexually violated.

Rhythm – Developing the natural rhythm you had before the abuse happened, the blueprint that is the essence of your true nature, becoming who you really are.
